Dr. Janelle Thompson | Principal

Welcome!

I am Dr. Janelle Thompson, Licensed Clinical Psychologist.

Accepting new patients.

______________________________________

I attended Lafayette College for my bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned my master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University. Among my myriad training and professional experiences, I have trained within the Veterans Health Administration, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Drexel University’s College of Medicine.

I have a strong interest in treating eating/weight-related disorders, anxiety disorders, and difficulties in forming or maintaining relationships with other people.

Additionally, within Clinical Psychology my specialty area is Health/Medical Psychology. This means that I have specialized training and experience treating the psychological components that often present when managing a chronic medical condition or adjusting to a newly diagnosed medical condition. Thanks to my residency and fellowship training, I am also specially trained to work with veterans and service members of the United States Armed Forces, as well as their families.  Lastly, I have spent many years working with clients whose chronological age places them in the “65 and older” age group and, thus far, it has been one of the most enjoyable career moves that I have made.

In addition to my clinical work, I have experience teaching resident physicians in the Family and Community Medicine Residency (University of Arizona); fellows in the Integrative Medicine Fellowship (University of Arizona); and providing clinical supervision and teaching for student therapists working toward their doctoral degrees in psychology, as well as their independent licensure.

In my free time, you can find me hiking around with my Labrador Retrievers, partner, and cat (who hasn’t quite gotten the hang of hiking yet).

I look forward to hearing how we can work together.
